Where Cadastre Home began
In August 2020, Hurricane Laura tore through Southwest Louisiana. Our founder lost nearly everything - home, belongings, and the ordinary proof that life had been lived inside those walls. Rebuilding meant reconstructing an inventory from memory while still carrying the weight of the loss. That experience is not unique, but it is unforgettable.
Cadastre Home grew from that aftermath. The product has been taking shape in his mind since Laura - not as a side project, but as an answer to a question every storm season asks: What did you own before the damage?
We launched where hurricanes are a seasonal reality - Calcasieu, Lafayette, Cameron, and parishes along the I-10 corridor, then expaned into the cities and parishes along the US-171 corridor up to the Many / Toledo Bend areas. DIY plans work nationwide; Concierge capture expands as certified partners join new markets.
Why “Cadastre”? Land has an official cadastre - surveys, boundaries, and legal record. Homes have deeds, tax bills, and mortgages. What was missing was a standard for what is inside: furniture, upgrades, collections, and receipts scattered across phones and drawers. A Cadastre Vault is that record - structured, maintained, and ready when proof matters.
